Born on the Westside of Charlotte, NC, Dr.Cirkustien was grown for the strange purpose of self expression and mind expansion. All of the members of this quartet have been playing music in various combinations together for over 15 years. A mixture of jazz, reggae and drum&bass rhythms, the melodic and manic experimental dark minor key musings of the ebonies and ivories, covered in a layer of lyrical cynical sacred sarcasm, they have torn the fabric of passe over-played genre music.

mindy and hayley just started playing together for fun. think that was right after the new year, 2011. then we thought we were kinda good...so we needed a singer, we always knew katie had a great voice, but didnt realize how magically compatible hayley and katie would jive- a perpetually exciting process of song writing and the pieces just showing themselves to fit....she came round a month or so later...and then almost a real band, we needed a bass player- so hayley invited friend and fellow tattoo artist, elf. we formed Shot Silk in its current glory in March 2011 and the rest is the history and the future
